This year's vintage film poster auction at Christie's South Kensington branch in London gets under way September 17, with 282 items going on the block. And yes, you can bid online. Cinephiles with deep pockets can go for the two items above: the advance Barbarella poster (lot 160) and the Spanish Breakfast at Tiffany's poster (lot 100) are estimated at $5,280–$8,800 each. The rest of us will have to settle for for the likes of the German Spy Who Loved Me poster (lot 36), a steal at an estimated $880-$1,230, or the After Office Hours half-sheet (lot 271), estimated at $1,400-$2,110. Of course, the exchange rate isn't exactly working in our favor these days, but Sarah Palin will fix all that, right?
